Last week iOS 8.1 was released to developers with a variety of changes one of which included secret settings for Apple Pay.
Revealed at the iPhone launch, Apple Pay is Apple’s NFC based mobile payment service. This payment portal has taken the world by storm with numerous retailers clamoring to get their businesses ready for it.
iOS 8.1 is rumored to be openly launched on October 20, along with the announcement of Apple Pay.
This information comes straight from the mouth of Bank Innovation who had the information released to them by multiple sources close to Apple. Moving quickly with the iOS updates, Apple also has plans set in motion for quicker release cycles, not only with iOS 8.1, but iOS 8.2 and iOS 8.3 as well. Development, testing, and references to these iOS variations have begun to pop up in Apple’s logs. There is another internet rumor going on that Apple is surprising the public with another media event involving the iPad later this month. It seems that iOS 8.1 beta includes references to an iPad with Touch ID, hinting at an iPad Air and iPad mini re-release with Touch ID finger print sensing unit and Apple Pay support. This is big. Not only can you use your iPhone to pay at numerous merchants across the U.S. but you can now use your iPad as well. More news on this as it develops. Are you excited about Apple Pay?
